I spotted this sign when we were on the tour bus in Asheville, NC. Luckily I had the camera out and ready to take pictures. I almost missed the photo op because it took a second for the words to register.
Hi Kim and Annie, Awww shucks. Being a little slow witted, I thought it meant that the dress somehow didn't fit well when she tried it on or she didn't like it but couldn't sell it as new and thus the sign! You mean yours didn't fit too, Kim!
I feel like I came from Mayberry when I realized how funny the sign was...only for a second though. Ha!
Like my wife who told me when she was a kid they always passed by a clock repair shop when they went downtown. It had a sign: Watch Clock Repair. So she and her brother stood there for the longest time to see the clock repair itself. Not only once but every time they went which was pretty much a weekly occurrence. :)
Hi Kate, Glad it made you laugh! Good thing I remembered to pan the camera as we were riding by or it would have been illegible. You can see the heads of the other riders are slightly blurred because of the panning.
Luckily is was bright outside the bus and the camera has an optical stabilizer so everything worked even though we were moving. Actually we were stopped in traffic about a half a block before the sign which was readable at that distance so it took me more than a second for it to register. We were moving when I got the camera ready for the photo.
*grin* Funny, I have one of those, too.
ReplyDeleteYou must have been in Mayberry, Ki ;-]

That's a good one - lucky you didn't miss photographing it. My laugh for the day!

Ki, exactly! Funny, though, I have a diamond ring with which I have the same problem. ;)
ReplyDeleteNice job with the panning. I'd have guessed you were stopped in traffic, it's so clear.
Hey Kim, you could have a twofer sale.
