I read in PC mag. that only 3% of blogs started are actively updated! Wow, I guess the garden bloggers have more to write about or are more tenacious like the plants they grow. Looked up this claim and here's the article from eWeek.com.
Hi Anthony, thanks for the compliment and your comments. You're probably right in your assessment that 3% is a lot. It's pretty difficult to even maintain a single blog let alone several. I'm sure it's pretty discouraging too when you (not you in particular) see (if you have a counter) that no one has visited your blog. It was lean pickings when I first started and thought why am I doing this? Still lean but I just soldier on, oblivious of whether people are reading it. ;0
GardenVoices is a great resource. I've thanked Old Roses for providing such a great service. Must be time consuming to aggregate and display all those blogs everyday.
I think 3% is a lot actually. I have about 8 blogs but I have only updated my Gardening blog regularly.
ReplyDeleteAnd even on my most active blog, I just went through a stretch of 2 months or so without a post. Just started a new job and didn't have any time.
When you take into account all the people who start a blog and then stop after a post or two, I think 3% is a pretty high.
By the way, I just found your blog on GardenVoices and have been enjoying it.
