These are the plain old woodland wildflowers not the exotic ones like the spectacular A. sikokianum but elegant in their own right. I was lucky when I bought them to have gotten one each of the pale green and purple-brown.
Hi Anthony, I bought tubers last spring and they grew immediately, even putting out skinny flowers. They are more robust this year with bigger and nicer looking flowers although you can't say they are large by any means. They are a very nice addition to a woodlands garden in a quiet way. They don't sock you between the eyes and you sort of have to look for them as they are a bit camouflaged, especially the green one. Well worth the minimal effort to grow them.
There's nothing "plain old" about them. I think they look awesome!
ReplyDeleteHow did you buy them?
Were they bareroot (or are they tubers?) or did you buy plants?
Great looking plants.
