Is it spring? Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

I saw this forsythia trying to bloom this morning. I went out later and took a photo of it, 56 degrees F on a cloudy drizzly day. Funny that this forsythia is trying to bloom when the temperatures have been mostly in the 30's and 40's. The temperature spiked up today but will go down again tomorrow and all next week. Maybe the plant knows more than we do about what the weather will be in the near future?

Now that, to me, is one of the most hopeful signs of spring that I've seen, Ki!

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and that the rest of the holiday season is a lovely one for you!

Happy New Year!

Neat! Now that Christmas is over, we can start counting the days until spring. Hope you had a happy holiday!

Hi Yolanda Elizabet,
the best kind of Christmas present. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas as well.

Hi Kate,
An extremely early sign of renewal which gladdens my heart. I do wish you a happy new year and hope you had a great Christmas.

Hi Entangled,
By the looks of the forsythia it may be an early spring if it's any kind of reliable harbinger. Still too much rushing about for the holidays but something to keep active. I guess this is a good time to kick back and peruse the plant and seed catalogs. I am looking forward to spring. Hope you have a very nice New Year.

Layanee,

We keep getting plumes of warmth from the south with cold trying to push in between. It's been a strange winter, warm for a few days then wet and cold, interchanging for many weeks now. Winter, spring, winter, spring, quite discombobulating. Hope to see more of your interesting plants in the new year!
